CAT6 Minimum Quality Requirements

At GETDSI, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality low-voltage cabling solutions that meet and exceed industry standards. Our commitment to excellence ensures that your network infrastructure is reliable, efficient, and future-proofed. Below are our minimum quality requirements specifically for CAT6 cabling.

Quality Requirements for CAT6 Cabling

  1. Cable Type:
    • All cables must be solid copper CAT6. We do not accept copper-clad aluminum (CCA) cables, which can compromise performance and reliability.
  2. Cable Rating:
    • Cables must be rated for a bandwidth of 400-500 MHz to support high-speed data transmission and ensure optimal network performance.
  3. Plenum and Riser Ratings:
    • Use plenum-rated CAT6 cables for installations in air-handling spaces. This minimizes fire hazards and smoke production.
    • Use riser-rated CAT6 cables for vertical runs between floors to comply with safety standards.
  4. Installation Practices:
    • All installations must adhere to industry standards regarding bend radius and cable separation to prevent interference and ensure longevity.
    • Proper labeling and documentation of all cables and connections are mandatory for easy maintenance and troubleshooting.
  5. Testing and Certification:
    • All installations will undergo thorough testing to verify compliance with specified performance standards, including Verification, Qualification, and Certification upon request.
  6. Wire Gauge:
    • We utilize 23 AWG wire gauge for optimal signal strength and reliability.
